The Ritter Museum exhibits in Italy for the first time with the exhibition "Colours in a Square -Works from the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection".

At the origin of everything is Marli Hoppe-Ritter's astonishing passion for the square shape. It is the square as a shape that unites all the works of 30 years of research around Europe with her husband Hilmann Hoppe. The result is a collection with a unique international profile, with about 1200 abstract geometric works from the 20th and 21st centuries, collected in a dedicated museum.

The doors to the inauguration of the new Ritter Museum in 2006 were opened by a one-man show by Marcello Morandini, with whom a long friendship and collaboration began between the Maestro and the Ritter Museum.

A bond that reaches up to the present day, with the new exhibition hosted by the Marcello Morandini Foundation in Varese "Colours in a Square - Works from the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Collection", in which the Marli Hoppe collection is presented for the first time in Italy -Ritter.

From 26 November 2022 to 16 April 2023, the exhibition, curated by Barbara Willert (director of the Ritter Museum), brings to Italy thirty-nine works including paintings, sculptures and square-shaped objects from the 1960s to today.
