The transition from liquid to crystalline solid is an example of that general phenomenon that goes under the name of spontaneous symmetry breaking, and the time crystal imagined in 2012 by Nobel Nobel Frank Wilczek, has now been made at the University of Maryland. Never as in this case has a relevant similarity manifested itself between the research of science and the phenomenal speculation of art. And if science makes marvelous discoveries, art presents them to us in a marvelous form, since the artist's act possesses in itself a force of coercion superior to all forms of physical imposition.
