Lumen - Museum of mountain photography
The Lumen - Museum of Mountain Photography is located in Brunico , in Trentino Alto Adige.
The fascination for the mountains has been intact since time immemorial.
With LUMEN, this fascination finds its photographic home: on the top of Plan de Corones (in South Tyrol), the 1800 square meters of the museum are in fact entirely dedicated to mountain photography.
In the spaces that unfold on four floors, LUMEN makes tangible the history of mountain photography from the beginning to today, and the art of mountain photographers from all over the world. In addition to the permanent exhibition, LUMEN also organizes temporary exhibitions on contemporary photography.
The Lumen - Museum of Mountain Photography presents historical photographs and digital innovations, exciting temporary exhibitions and spectacular productions. The curatorial program is characterized by its interdisciplinary character: mountaineering, tourism, politics, spirituality and history. The theme of the mountain is therefore examined from different perspectives.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions of contemporary photography can also be found.
