The Project Galleries of Palazzo Morpurgo are located in the historic center of the city of Udine. The Galleries were inaugurated in 2003 at the eighteenth-century headquarters of Palazzo Valvason Morpurgo. The Palace still retains the marvelous decorations, sculptures and frescoes with a neoclassical taste. Of great value is the garden with an elegant stone statue in the center depicting a nymph. The exhibition space was created for the city as a venue for temporary exhibitions and an archive for architecture and design funds. Among the main collections are those of the most important architects Zanini, D'Olivo and D'Aronco donated to the Municipality of Udine. The archives contain over twenty thousand models, drawings, historical slides and photographs. The main objective of the Project Galleries is to safeguard and enhance every single archive that documented the activity of the Friulian architects active during the twentieth century. Today the Galleries are open to the public and the archives offer a consultation service, upon reservation.
