Absolute protagonist with Leonardo and Michelangelo of the Italian Renaissance , Raphael brings painting to the heights of beauty immediately celebrated in every part of Europe. 500 years after his death , the Royal Museums pay homage to the great master of Urbino with an exhibition that, through paintings, engravings and objects of decorative art, illustrates the spread of models derived from his work from the first half of the sixteenth century to the end of the Nineteenth century, in Piedmont and in the Savoy collections.

The exhibition, hosted in the Galleria Sabauda from 30 October 2020 to 14 March 2021 , is supported by the National Committee for the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Raphael's death established at the MiBACT and was created in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo and in collaboration with the Conservation and Restoration Center La Venaria Reale.

The itinerary presents 33 works and illustrates Raphael's art through works that derive directly from his models, both through the practice of copying, and with the free reinterpretation of his inventions. The style of the master, characterized by sweetness and elegance, by extraordinary drawing ability, by precious colors and by a perfect compositional balance, becomes a reference for every artistic genre.
