The show

The Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation presents, from 5 June to 29 September, the exhibition "Magical Nights. Italian Art of the Nineties from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection", curated by Giorgina Bertolino and Irene Calderoni .
Italy '90: the new decade begins with the soccer world championship. In the stadiums of twelve cities they sing to the notes of "An Italian Summer" by Edoardo Bennato and Gianna Nannini. They sing about the rules of the game, about adventures and goals (the "blue" ones by Totò Schillaci). The hymn changes its title and becomes magical Nights for everyone. The national team comes third and to lift the cup is West Germany. A few months later, on 3 October, thanks to the historic unification with the GDR, it will simply become Germany. The journey, which began with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, has now been completed. The collapse, festive and liberating, inaugurated the decade and opened a space, which will tragically close again with the crash of the Twin Towers in New York in 2001.
