CAMERA - Italian Center for Photography continues in its path of enhancing the role of photography among the great languages of the twentieth century , in particular in its relationship with the most important artistic currents of the twentieth century.
After the great exhibition of MoMA's masterpieces, CAMERA proposes, in fact, a double appointment, CAMERA DOPPIA , dedicated to photography and Italian art of the sixties and seventies, a period extraordinarily rich in visual, intellectual and social stimuli .
We are the revolution. Arte in Italia 1967-1977 and Ketty La Rocca. If I fotovivo. Works 1967-1975 are the two major exhibitions, one collective and one personal , at CAMERA from 14 July to 2 October 2022, which tell the climate of those years between experimentation, research and invention of new artistic forms . The protagonists are the artists, their faces and their bodies: photography is the testimony, for example, of the birth of Arte Povera in Turin - one of the most important movements of the second half of the century - or of the great events that transform exhibitions into unpredictable events involving entire communities, as in the case of the historic exhibition held in Amalfi in 1968: revolutionary years in every area, which photography tells through iconic shots .
