From 7 June to 3 November 2019
An exhibition to tell a great collector and his extraordinary story: "The worlds of Riccardo Gualino collector and entrepreneur" brings together in the Chiablese Rooms of the Royal Museums of Turin , from 7 June to 3 November 2019, the collection that belonged to Riccardo Gualino , bringing together the two main groups of works preserved at the Galleria Sabauda in Turin and at the Banca d'Italia in Rome, together with paintings, sculptures, furnishings and photographs from Turin and national museums and institutions, private collections and archives, first of which the Archive Central of the State.
The exhibition, curated by Annamaria Bava and Giorgina Bertolino , is a project of the Royal Museums of Turin with the Bank of Italy and with the collaboration of the Central State Archives. With over three hundred works, including the masterpieces of Botticelli , Duccio da Boninsegna , Veronese , Manet , Monet , Casorati , the exhibition offers a precious opportunity to get to know, for the first time in an extensive way, the entire span of life and collecting by Riccardo Gualino, captain of industry and financier, a leading figure in the Italian economy of the twentieth century.
The exhibition is based on the intertwining of art and artistic life, an address that Gualino himself explained and supported in his 1931 autobiography.
