From 28 March to 24 June 2019
Curated by Daniela Magnetti and Stefano Causa
Dedicated to Battistello Caracciolo 's masterpiece Qui vultcome post me, also remembered as Christ and the Cyrene or Christ carrying the Cross owned by the University of Turin, the exhibition places the painting in dialogue with some Caravaggesque works present in the collection of the Galleria Sabauda. The exhibition is proposed by the Artistic Direction of Banca Patrimoni Sella & C., in collaboration with the University of Turin, the Archaeological, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendence for the Metropolitan City of Turin and the direction of the Royal Museums.
The exhibition stems from the desire to present to the public the work of Caracciolo restored and studied with the aid of the most sophisticated diagnostic technologies, thanks to the contribution of Banca Intesa Galleria d'Italia (for the restoration) and of Banca Patroimoni Sella & C ( for diagnostics), and the work of Thierry Radelet's Turin laboratory.
