From 11 March to 19 June 2022
From 11 March to 19 June 2022 the exhibition " Andrea Scarabello. Repetition kills " is staged at the MEF Ettore Fico Museum in Turin .
Alessandro Scarabello is absolutely one of the young Italian talents who can dialogue, on an equal basis, with the contemporary international avant-gardes and was the winner in 2020 of the "Ettore and Ines Fico Prize", which every year is awarded by Mef during Artissima to a artist who has particularly distinguished himself on the international scene.
The " Repetition kills " exhibition, curated by Andrea Busto director and president of the Ettore Fico Museum , is composed of about twenty large oils on canvas that represent and testify how in recent years the artist has been able to combine the phantom forms of pictorial ectoplasm history and contemporary culture. Evocations on the verge of abstraction, Scarabello conveys an impressive amount of aesthetic information in his works ranging from Balthus to Luc Tuymans, from Scipio to the last Titian, in which everything is stratified in a draft on the border between figuration and abstraction.
Catalog edited by Andrea Busto, texts by Andrea Busto, Davide Ferri, Damiano Gullì and Hans Op de Beeck. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with The Gallery Apart gallery in Rome.
