From 5 September to 9 November 2025
The exhibition, titled “RENATO CASARO. Once upon a time in the WESTERN”, scheduled from September 5 to November 9, 2025, presents a selection of drawings, sketches, posters, and movie posters that trace Casaro's unique ability to capture the epic, the dust, and the heroism of both Italian and Hollywood western cinema.
The western genre offered Casaro a perfect canvas to enhance his pictorial style: from tense close-ups to vast landscapes, to the dynamic portrayal of legendary shootouts.
Original sketches will be on display integrated with unpublished pieces from his personal archive, offering the public a complete view of the creative process that brought to light the visual icons of unforgettable films.
Among the exhibited works, stand out the posters and sketches of true masterpieces that have entered collective memory, such as the iconic The Magnificent Seven, the celebrated Dances with Wolves, and the films that have consecrated the era of Spaghetti Westerns, including the famous Dollars Trilogy by Sergio Leone.
A particularly interesting core is dedicated to the two posters that Casaro created for the imaginary films used as set pieces in the filming of Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019) by Quentin Tarantino. The presence of these sketches reveals the behind the scenes of a recent major success and establishes Casaro as an integral part of Hollywood's mythology.
In addition to the graphics, the exhibition also showcases a highly appealing scenic element: the saddle from the film My Name is Nobody starring Terence Hill, donated to the artist by the actor himself, a true relic, a testament to friendship and mutual respect.
