The show

On the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Mario Rigoni Stern, MUSE with the MART presents the exhibition “Wild and salvific. Mario Rigoni Stern's Animals ”dedicated to the animals told by the great narrator of the Altipiano dei Sette Comuni.

The exhibition, curated by the journalist and art critic Fiorenzo Degasperi and the biographer of the writer Giuseppe Mendicino, is a tribute to the dry, clear and evocative writing of Mario Rigoni Stern and to the animals he met and told during his life as a man of mountains. In his most famous novels, the writer has told realistic and moving stories about wild animals, hunting and the world of hunters as an integral part of an Alpine mountain story. A world full of efforts, silences and knowledge. Knowledge above all of the balance of the mountain and of the delicacy that man must always have in approaching it to draw sustenance from it.

The exhibition itinerary, immersed between the noble rooms and the sixteenth-century frescoes of Palazzo delle Albere, suggests an unprecedented exploration in which art and science dialogue with each other, in a renewed relationship with the environment, curious and without prejudice.
