After the success of the 62nd edition, the first organized by the museum and documented by a recently published catalogue, the Termoli Prize exhibition returns to MACTE from 27 May to 17 September 2023. Now in its 63rd edition, curated by Cristiana Perrella, the Termoli Prize is among the longest-lived on the Italian art scene and, since its first edition in 1955, has allowed the creation of a rich collection of works of art, entrusted to the Macte Foundation in 2019.
The Prize, divided into the Visual Arts and Architecture and Design sections, presents for the Visual Arts Section an exhibition of twelve contemporary artists, selected by a curatorial committee composed this year by Davide Ferri, Alessandro Rabottini, Bruna Roccasalva and Alessandra Troncone. of the participants – Luca Bertolo, Lorenza Boisi, Giulia Cenci, Diego Cibelli, Chiara Enzo, Irene Fenara, Linda Fregni Nagler, Adelita Husni-Bey, Luca Monterastelli, Valerio Nicolai, Eugenio Tibaldi and Michele Tocca – the jury will choose the winning work which will enter the MACTE collection with the purchase prize method.
The jury of the Visual Arts Section is composed of Cristiana Perrella, Caterina Riva, director of MACTE, and Francesco Stocchi, curator of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam.
For the Architecture and Design Section, an international call has been activated for the design of the layout and furnishing elements of the future library of the MACTE museum. The six most deserving design proposals, which will be presented in the exhibition, were chosen by the jury composed of Cristiana Perrella, Federica Sala, curator and design advisor, Marco Rainò, architect, designer and curator, and Paolo De Matteis Larivera, President of the MACTE Foundation.
The finalists are: BB (Milan), Chiara Cavanna–Isabella Ciminiello–Simone Nardi (Turin), thehighkey (New York), Matilde Cassani Studio (Milan), Ortiz + Zhou_O+R Studio (Seville) and Sara&Sara (Ljubljana). For the winning project, in addition to the awarding of a cash prize, the effective implementation in the museum spaces will be evaluated.
