Wednesday 19 May 2021 the MACTE - Museum of Contemporary Art of Termoli reopens to the public with the new exhibition of the 62 edition of the Termoli Prize. It is one of the longest-running events on the Italian scene - now in its sixty-second edition - which since 1955 has brought some of the most important artists of the second half of the twentieth century to the Molise capital, leaving as evidence of their passage the works that today make up the precious collection of the MACTE. For the first time in its history, the Termoli Award is organized by the MACTE - Museum of Contemporary Art of Termoli, born in 2019, and will be curated by Laura Cherubini.

Visual Arts Section

The 62nd Termoli Prize, in line with its tradition, presents an exhibition of contemporary artists, invited by four selection curators: among the participants, the jury will nominate a winner whose work will be acquired and will enter the museum's collections. The 62nd Termoli Prize exhibition is designed and curated by Laura Cherubini, who invited the curators Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, Francesco Garutti, Lorenzo Madaro and Paola Ugolini, to select the twelve participating artists Rä di Martino, Bruna Esposito, Matteo Fato, Claire Fontaine, Silvia Giambrone, Michele Guido, Renato Leotta, Lorenza Longhi, Diego Marcon, Giuseppe Stampone, Alice Visentin, Gilberto Zorio. The jury that will choose the winner is composed of Laura Cherubini, Caterina Riva and Andrea Viliani, and will also select an artist to whom an exhibition will be dedicated in the MACTE spaces in 2022.

Architecture and Design Section

The 62nd Termoli Prize for the first time is enriched with a new Architecture and Design Section, conceived by Laura Cherubini, with the aim of increasingly opening contemporary arts to the enjoyment of the community and tourists who inhabit the city.
