Considered one of the most interesting examples of suburban luxury villa in Sicily, the villa was built between the end of the 2nd and the beginning of the 1st century. BC in a site frequented since the Hellenistic age. The layout, with an entrance on the north side of the central body, is articulated, according to a usual layout, around a large quadrangular peristyle, onto which a series of rooms open with various uses (private, representation/living room, service) and the private spa complex.
Of great interest is the presence of numerous black and white tessellated floors, in particular the figured mosaic with a fishing scene, and rich wall decorations. The various building interventions, legible in the walls, in the wall coverings and in the floor levels, indicate that the structure was in use for several centuries.
The last phase of occupation of the area, following a violent destruction between the end of the 5th and the beginning of the 6th century. AD, is represented by modest wall structures found in the eastern sector of the complex.
