The artist from Cuneo Dario Ghibaudo , one of the founders of Italian Ironic Conceptualism , is the creator of the extraordinary Museum of Unnatural History , an artistic project in which all his works created since the beginning of the 1990s converge. Structured with the Enlightenment rigor of a real eighteenth-century natural history museum, it is a constantly growing virtual museum characterized by research that uses irony to analyze society, its contradictions and its discomforts . In Ghibaudo's research, fantastic creatures originate from genetic and symbolic hybridizations , mixing traditions and iconographic memories.

"The project" explains Ivo Serafino Fenu, curator of the exhibition, "is divided into rooms , virtual and real, designed to ideally house and divide the various branches, twenty-five to date, ranging from Anthropology to Entomology, from Botany to mutant beings and rare specimens, from Ethnography to Anamorphosis, to name a few. Inside them appear hybrid and mutant beings, hybridized by ongoing physical and cultural metamorphic processes, authenticated and, therefore, certified by the demiurgic artist who baptizes them with names in Latin, rigorous and icastic in describing their peculiarities as ironic and corrosive towards the assertiveness of the same scientific processes: Hippotragus anteropostus spinatus, Antilocapra varicruris longicaudata, Avis canidi horroficati, Octopus caput avis, Capronis sexpedatus cum cauda pisciorum – just to name a few, several of which are on display in the CEDAP space for the contemporary art museum Organic – often united by a common fish tail, homage and, at the same time, mockery of the scientific theories that would like the origin of life on earth in a marine environment”.

The exhibition is enriched by a site-specific installation of the work Unicornium cum cruris installed in front of the Organica Museum.

The exhibition " Museum of Unnatural History " is organized in collaboration with the Luigi De Ambrogi galleries and the CARLOCINQUE Gallery in Milan.
