From 17 April to 30 August 2026
How does one learn to draw the human body? The exhibition "Generation 1700" is dedicated to drawing lessons at the Royal Academy in Paris and shows how some of the most significant artists of the French Enlightenment combine their study of anatomy with artistic expression. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the German-French friendship, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart sheds light on an era of profound societal changes, in which drawing itself becomes a medium of enlightenment freedom.
