From 22 May to 30 September 2025
The Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex in Siena hosts the exhibition "Path to the Sky" by Jacob Hashimoto from May 22 to September 30, 2025. The large-scale site-specific works have been created for the most prestigious institutions worldwide.
Produced and organized by the Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala Foundation, in collaboration with the Studio la Città gallery and with the support of Immagine Studio, the exhibition is curated by Raphaëlle Blanga, an expert in modern and contemporary art, and former Head of Department at Sotheby's Italy.
The exhibition project will present a selection of works by the great American artist from the Studio la Città gallery, alongside the site-specific installation titled "Path to the Sky" - from which the exhibition takes its name. The majestic sculpture, seventeen meters high with a total volume of about four hundred cubic meters, made of thousands of Japanese paper kites, will transform the inner courtyard of the ancient hospital, the "Corticella," into an ideal bridge between earth and sky, inviting visitors to lift their gaze towards a broader horizon and reflect on the complexity of human relationships and the power of unity.
