On the occasion of the Summer Jamboree 2022, to be held in Senigallia from 30 July to 7 August , the rooms on the first floor of Palazzetto Baviera will host Elliott Erwitt's “ICONS” photographic exhibition from 30 June to 16 September . The exhibition, curated by Biba Giacchetti , is organized by Summer Jamboree in collaboration with SudEst57. Over seventy shots, among the most famous by Elliott Erwitt , which tell a cross-section of the history and customs of the twentieth century seen through the typically ironic gaze of what is considered one of the greatest masters of world photography of all time.

From 30 June a major exhibition event anticipates and accompanies the event: the great photo exhibition “ICONS” by Elliott Erwitt , curated by Biba Giacchetti, hosted in the halls of Palazzetto Baviera . Organized by Summer Jamboree in collaboration with SudEst57, it is part of the schedule of Senigallia Città della Fotografia.

The exhibition presents over seventy shots of one of the greatest masters of world photography of all time, Elliott Erwitt , selected by the curator Biba Giacchetti together with Erwitt himself, who will turn 94 in July this year. The works on display enclose the entire journey of his long professional life through his most famous photographs, the ones he himself loves the most. The famous portraits of Che Guevara, Kerouac, Marlene Dietrich and the great movie stars, one above all Marilyn Monroe. And again, photographs that have made history, such as the quarrel between Nixon and Khrushchev, Kennedy's funeral, the great match between Frazier and Ali.

There is no shortage of icons most loved by the public for their romantic strength, such as the California Kiss, the photograph that symbolizes timeless love: the image reflected in the rearview mirror of a couple kissing inside a car. A photo that seems to have been constructed at a table, but is actually spontaneous, as Erwitt tells in his biography “La fortuna”, explaining how chance played a fundamental role in the realization of his most famous shots. Then there are the more intimate and private photographs, such as that of his newborn firstborn, observed on the bed by his mother, as well as a collection of self-portraits that tells how Erwitt loves to make fun of himself too.
