On Saturday 21 May 2022, at 11.30, the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Museums of Sardinia, Luana Toniolo, and the Director of the National Art Gallery of Sassari, Maria Paola Dettori, will inaugurate the exhibition Tutti aboard! The voyages of ocean liners in the illustrations by Vittorio Accornero and Edina Altara.

The meeting between the two artists marks an important professional partnership which lasted from 1922, the year of their marriage, until 1934, the year of their separation.

In 1929 the Accornero couple left for New York embarking on the "Conte Grande" and a few years later they returned on board, at least metaphorically, creating the brochures and menus for the legendary transatlantic "Rex": four-handed works that exalt in a synthesis the refinement and worldliness of first-class life is admirable.

The exhibition includes a rich selection of original sketches, posters, brochures and first-class menus created by Vittorio Accornero and Edina Altara between the twenties and the fifties, continuing with the recent inauguration of a room in the Pinacoteca entirely dedicated to Edina Altara.

The exhibition will be open until 21 June 2022.
