closed The Museum behind the scenes

The event

The National Picture Gallery of Sassari keeps in its deposits several hundred paintings and objects such as prints, drawings, small oils on copper and much more. Material that is constantly monitored thanks to the restoration laboratories. The day of Tuesday 28 June 2022 will be dedicated to making known, with two guided tours (one in the morning at 10.30 and one in the afternoon at 16.00), the backstage of the work that takes place inside a Museum. The Director of the Sardinia Regional Museum Directorate, Luana Toniolo, introduces the event, the narration and analysis of the works, collections and restorations is entrusted to the Director of the National Art Gallery of Sassari, Maria Paola Dettori, and the restorer Laura Scarpato. Small curiosities, dated quarrels about attributions, unfortunate restorations that must be remedied, ancient works and contemporary works to be 'put into shape' so that they are ready for display: a rare opportunity for an unprecedented, varied and - we hope - behind the scenes also fun!
