From 22 December to 17 April 2022
Introduction to the exhibition “Col filo e con l'ago. Rediscovered stories of sweaters, clothes, embroidery ”which will be inaugurated on December 22 at the Museum, is a choral project dedicated to the expressive language that has always accompanied humanity. The Giacomo Vittone House of Artists, a cultural center based in Tenno, inaugurated the exhibition “Col filo e con l'ago. For Maria Lai ”. In this context, the collaboration was born that sees the two cultural realities as protagonists of the encounter between tradition and innovation. The Museum has decided to exhibit in an exhibition objects that are part of the Trentino ethnographic heritage and tell an almost forgotten story: that of women and men who have made the mastery of the millenary art, performed with needle and thread, their profession.
On display will be the works of the knitter Narcisa Pedrotti from Trento, the tailor Albino Borga di Tuenno, the lacemaker Teresina Marchi from Borgo Valsugana and the embroiderers Caterina Bellotti and Pulcheria Marcolini from Varignano di Arco. The Museum mainly preserves their tools, but thanks to field research it has been possible to reconstruct some sections of their history.
