Palazzo Merulana presents the photographic exhibition Traces: from natural balance to urban imbalance, by Andrea Fassi and Emanuela Perri.

The exhibition arises from the encounter of two different but complementary perspectives, united by the urgency to reflect on the relationship between man and the environment where the general blends into the particular.

In Andrea Fassi's photographs, the protagonist is the state of abandonment of the generic, neglect and human indifference, captured and narrated through the solitude of detail: abandoned cones and cups, symbols of consumed pleasure, remain empty memories of human passage and instinctive desire for nourishment, an act that is completed with satiety and cares for nothing else.
 

With this project, Fassi highlights the devolution of love for nature in the face of commercial progress, transforming everyday objects into visual testimonies of collective fragility.

Together with her son Andrea, photographer Emanuela Perri explores an opposite universe by proposing, through details, a particular, uncontaminated nature, an indelible trace of human absence. The still intact spaces are full of their maximum natural value.

Her shots, as the seasons unfold, depict a pure and silent landscape, where natural balance resists, inviting the viewer to contemplate and protect what we risk compromising.

This dual perspective between mother and son creates a visual dialogue that relates the imprint of urban consumption and the resistance of uncontaminated nature; nature that generates and man that destroys, offering the public a profound and current reflection.
