From 5 February to 13 March 2024
This year the "Venanzo Crocetti" Foundation wants to remember the Sculptor with an exhibition dedicated to a significant artistic movement that characterized Italian art at the beginning of the last century and with which the Master Venanzo Crocetti (3 August 1913 - 3 February 2003 ), directly and indirectly, had contacts and shared affinities: the "so-called" Roman School .
The exhibition, curated by Professor Francesca Romana Morelli , opens to the public on February 5th. It was organized in collaboration with the Malvina Menegaz Foundation for Arts and Cultures , a foundation that wanted to make the works collected by Osvaldo Menegaz available to visitors, as part of the large collection of modern and contemporary art of the Foundation he created in 2008.
The exhibition itinerary outlines an ideal journey that opens with the views painted by Bartoli, Tamburi and Socrate who blocks an image of the Spina dei Borghi under the large dome, before being demolished to make room for the Via della Conciliazione. Align the portraits painted by Guzzi, Socrates and Torresini. He ideally entered the studies of the young Di Cocco, Bertoletti, Ziveri, Drei, Castellucci, Melli in the years of racial persecution. An interior by Leonetta Cecchi Pieraccini captures the daughter of the artist Suso (the future formidable screenwriter), immersed in reading, taking advantage of the city light that filters through the window. Finally, he leaves the city, to find himself in a natural place created by Trombadori, characterized by a metaphysical disorientation.
On display works by: Amerigo Bartoli Nantiguerra , Nino Bertoletti , Corrado Cagli , Katy Castellucci , Emanuele Cavalli , Ghisberto Ceracchini , Francesco Di Cocco , Ercole Drei , Virgilio Guzzi , Roberto Melli , Luigi Montanarini , Leonetta Pieraccini in Cecchi , Antonietta Raphaël , Toti Scialoja , Carlo Socrate , Giovanni Stradone , Orfeo Tamburi , Attilio Torresini , Francesco Trombadori , Alberto Ziveri .
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog (Artemide Edizioni) edited by Francesca Romana Morelli, with presentation texts by Carla Ortolani - President of the Venanzo Crocetti Foundation and by Osvaldo Menegaz - president of the Malvina Menegaz Foundation.
