From 27 May to 20 September 2023
The personal exhibition of Chiara Valentini Finds | will open to the public on May 27th Chiara Valentini at the Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum, directed by Maria Giuseppina di Monte and pertaining to the State Museums Directorate of the city of Rome, directed by Mariastella Margozzi. The exhibition, curated by Maria Giuseppina Di Monte, is created in collaboration with Anna Marra Arte Contemporanea and will remain open to the public until 20 September 2023.
Chiara Valentini in her exhibition project starts from the house museum and artist studio of Hendrik Christian Andersen, the intimate and personal place where the material and ideas of the Norwegian naturalized American sculptor took shape, a container of sculptural, pictorial and graphics but also the archive of a great utopian and symbolic project, the World Center of Communication, where time seems to have stopped crystallizing high human ideals of brotherhood and mutual collaboration that appear in our contemporary world as 'relics' of the past.
The visible and invisible traces of Hendrik Christian Andersen's life prompted Chiara Valentini to confront the artist's work and biography, as stated by the curator Maria Giuseppina Di Monte. Memory becomes the leitmotif of his museum project which seeks to recover and reinterpret the traces that Hendrik bequeathed by inviting each of us to re-weave the threads that connect the past to the present.
