From 3 July to 31 October 2021
LO SPETTACOLO DELLA VITA / LIFE IS A SHOW is an installation of thirteen sculptures by the artist from Campania by birth but from Puglia by adoption, Pietro Guida. Through the communicative power that overflows from them it is possible to manifest and hope for a progressive return to normality of essential and precious gestures of our humanity: the kiss of two boys, the dance of two tangheri, the embrace between mother and child, the conversation about bench, the sound of a musical trio, the walk of two elderly people, but also the playfulness of acrobats and acrobats and the serenity of an hour of sunshine. Finally, the child with the balloons and the father who supports him on his shoulders express, with their upward gazes, the desire to travel through life with the expectation of knowing how much beauty the world can still offer.
A return to life, therefore, unknowingly told, given the execution times of the works (from 1990 to 2004), by an artist who had the courage to rethink his art in a figurative key, referring back to the great tradition of Arturo's Italian sculpture Martini and Marino Marini and interpreting it in a modern key in terms of technique (molded concrete and
patinated) and a thematic choice (the facets of everyday life, in fact) to insert it as an interior necessity in one's own poetic world. Today, recent history confirms to us that the events of humanity can be told once again by putting humanity itself at the center and the best part that it preserves and hides, but that today it is necessary to manifest as a sign of trust in the future.
