Decades have passed since the last exhibition dedicated to Munch in Rome; although he is one of the most beloved artists in the world - the only one to have generated an emoticon with his most famous work, The Scream -, he is also one of the most difficult artists to see represented in exhibitions because almost all of his works are kept at the Munch Museum in Oslo, which has exceptionally agreed to an unprecedented loan. And so, from February 11, 2025, at Palazzo Bonaparte in Rome, it will be possible to admire a hundred masterpieces by Edvard Munch, including the iconic The Death of Marat (1907), Starry Night (1922–1924), Girls on the Bridge (1927), Melancholy (1900–1901), Dance on the Beach (1904), as well as one of the lithographic versions of The Scream (1895). The exhibition, which had a previous stop at Palazzo Reale in Milan where it set an absolute record of visitors, tells the entire artistic journey of Munch, from his beginnings to his latest works, crossing the themes dearest to him, connected to each other by the interpretation of the tormented essence of the human condition. The exhibition Munch. The Inner Scream is produced and organized by Arthemisia. "We are honored and proud to have been able to realize this great project - comments Iole Siena, President of Arthemisia - in collaboration with the Munch Museum in Oslo. Munch had been missing from Italy for many decades and the great success achieved in the first stop in Milan confirmed to us how great the public's love is for this immense artist, capable of giving us very strong emotions."
