"PAINTED ARCHITECTURE", ON DISPLAY IN ROME 80 WORKS BY CAMPONESCHI
"There is a difference between built Architecture and designed Architecture, imagine how these differences are emphasized when, as in my work, we talk about painted Architecture." Arriving at his fifteenth solo exhibition, Mauro Camponeschi - architect, painter, teacher - celebrates 50 years of work with painting (1975-2025) by exhibiting, at the Crocetti Museum in Rome (via Cassia, 92) from May 9 to 22, eighty works that are the result of the contaminations of his various "professions", his sensitivity, and the ability to represent reality that allows transferring an idea or thought into forms, colors, materials, settings, or paintings. A journey of personal and professional growth that allows, in the stylistic itinerary of the exhibited paintings, to observe the evolution of painting techniques, expressive developments, and material combinations.
The exhibition "Painted Architecture" is divided into sections that do not propose a chronological classification, but rather a thematic one in order to invite reflection and engage the visitor in the search for time (suspended) and silence (pursued), which are two fundamental elements of the author's painting. The result is a journey into the "magical" and the "fantastic" that interacts with nature, literature, with an idealized reality but still within reach. Eighty works executed with various techniques and organized into ten sections, starting from the early production to span over painted architectures and ink drawings of notebooks, polymeric assemblages and still lifes, canonical landscapes, dreamlike painting, the bestiary of engravings on plates, up to watercolors and collages. Over half of the exhibited works were produced in the last two years, and all the paintings on display are unpublished. The catalog "Painted Architecture", tab editions, will be presented to the public on May 14.
