On 22 September, at 6.30 pm, the photographic exhibition entitled “LE STRADE DI CASA. ANATOMY OF A COMMUNITY. The search for a country across time and continents ".
The exhibition, sponsored by the Calabria Region and the Municipality of San Nicola da Crissa and curated by Alfredo Corrao in collaboration with the FullMind Lab, collects the research conducted over almost thirty years by the photographer Salvatore Piermarini (1949-2019) with the anthropologist Vito Teti on a Calabrian community divided between San Nicola da Crissa (VV) and Toronto.
The images, which will remain on display until November 6, show the daily, ritual, festive, community dimension of a Calabrian town in the early 1980s and its expansion, relocation, resurgence in Canada. The anthropological characters and mutations of a double country are documented.
Rites, festivals, faces, religious dimension, the sociability of a country united in traditions, even if divided by an ocean, which is beautifully portrayed by an external photographer and an anthropologist within the observed world.
