Palazzo Merulana , in synergy with the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Foundation and CoopCulture , is pleased to host the exhibition “ Isabella Rossellini by André Rau ”, curated by Vanessa Bikindou , in collaboration with the Festa del Cinema Foundation .

It was 1981 when Isabella Rossellini and André Rau met for the first time. Isabella Rossellini by André Rau is the summary of the years of their collaboration, an artistic union that marked the turn of the century, characterizing it in its most aesthetic forms. Their relationship has become a symbol of several photographic campaigns, such as Lancome or fashion shoots for German Vogue. During that meeting, therefore, an artistic partnership based on friendship was formed which gave way to one of the most significant collaborations of the modern time. All this is testified by the photos of the actress taken by Rau which demonstrate the trust between the two, but also the grace of Isabella Rossellini and the peculiar skill of the photographer.

When looking at the photos it is therefore practically impossible not to notice the serenity and harmony of the professional who was able to capture the humanity of one of the most famous divas in the modern world with a single image.

Thanks to the exhibition “Isabella Rossellini by André Rau” for the first time it is possible to enjoy these splendid photographs all together, savoring the change over the years that they have been able to underline.
