From November 14 to December 14, 2025, Rome Smistamento hosts for the first time CINEFRAMED, the exhibition dedicated to the most iconic covers of Cineforum Rivista — 16 framed subjects that tell over sixty years of Italian editorial and cinematographic history. A visual and archival journey to rediscover not only the graphic and stylistic evolution of the magazine, but also the collective memory of a cinematographic imaginary that has marked generations of viewers. Founded in 1961, Cineforum Rivista is still considered one of the most authoritative voices in international film criticism and culture.

The exhibition
Cineframed retraces the history of Cineforum Rivista from 1961 to 2020 through a selection of the most representative covers of the Collection Series: 16 subjects divided into four thematic sections:

Icons – Faces and bodies that have become symbols of the cinematographic imaginary, from Gong Li to Isabella Rossellini.
Nani Tedeschi – The famous illustrations created by the Emilian artist between 1976 and 1980, true graphic works.
Milestones #1 – Unique – Historic covers in black and white and in color that tell the classic cinema and the 60s.
Milestones #2 – Big – Portraits of authors, actresses, and films that have made history, from John Ford to Tarantino.

The exhibited covers testify to the changes in graphic language, formats, and aesthetic taste, but above all, they tell the story of cinema through images destined to remain in the visual imagination of those who love the seventh art. The exhibition also features precious archival objects from the Italian Cineforum Federation, which for the first time opens to the public part of its rich historical archive, making visible a unique editorial and cultural heritage in the Italian panorama. To accompany the exhibition, there is also a visual journey with a montage of some frames taken from the most iconic films featured in the magazine, to show how graphic design and cinema have always interacted in a lively and direct way.
