The exhibition Painting in person. The new CRC Foundation Collection presents works specially created for the spaces of the exhibition venue and a selection of recent paintings by over 32 emerging artists, all acquired by the CRC Foundation in recent years through the ColtivArte project. The exhibition event is curated by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and Marcella Beccaria, respectively Director and Chief Curator of the Collections of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art. From Tuesday 2 November some artists will be present in San Francesco to carry out further "site-specific" interventions. The exhibition, with free admission, will be accompanied by a catalog and will remain open to the public until Sunday 6 March 2022, from Tuesday to Saturday from 15.30 to 18.30, on Sunday from 10.30 to 18.30.

The works on display were chosen from among the acquisitions made by the CRC Foundation in recent years on the proposal of a commission of experts chaired by the Director of the Castello di Rivoli, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, and composed by Guido Curto, Director of the Consortium of the Royal Savoy Residences, and Chus Martínez, Director of the Art Institute at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel. The selection on display is an ideal representative path of the new global trends in international contemporary art, with particular attention to the use of painting as an expressive language with the aim of underlining its vitality and propositional strength even with respect to the complex challenges imposed by the contemporary world. Physical body, space encumbrance, tactile materiality and even specific perfume of the painting technique are the material elements that the curators have chosen to highlight also to respond to the pervasiveness of digital mediation and dematerialization that has connoted many aspects of daily life in the months of pandemic.
