The VIII edition of the Contemporary Mosaic Biennial of Ravenna lives an original anticipation with an exhibition dedicated to two of the most interesting artists of their generation: Takako Hirai and Sergio Policicchio. Two artists from very distant and different areas of the world, Japan and Argentina, who form, meet and develop original languages through which to interpret contemporary mosaic in the city of Ravenna.
Two parallel and in dialogue exhibition itineraries: that of Policicchio which finds substance and comparison with the architecture of Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste, that of Hirai which presents an intertwining that sinks into the themes of nature with various unpublished works and created in the last period .
To complete this artistic intervention in the spaces of the historic Palazzo in Ravenna, an unpublished video created by Hirai and Policicchio will be presented; a dialogue of images, notes and thoughts of twenty years of "making mosaic".
The exhibition Becoming a mosaic , in addition to offering a preview of the next Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic , inaugurates a new planning in the field of exhibitions which also for the next few years will bring to Palazzo Rasponi exhibitions dedicated to the new generations of mosaicists by training. Ravenna.
Also in the halls of Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste, Una dedica a Ravenna will be visible, an unpublished exhibition project by Rupert Van Wyk, painter and illustrator with various publications dedicated in particular to the world of childhood. Van Wyk was born in Great Britain in 1971, from a South African family, but has been active and resident in Ravenna for some time.
