From 15 June to 30 July 2023, the great authors of contemporary comics will be on display at the MAR: from the master of Japanese manga Kazuo Kamimura to Andrea Pazienza, Manuele Fior, Paolo Bacilieri. And on the weekend of June 15-18 a rich program of meetings, events, live performances including graphic novels, art, music and cinema.

Comics about love. And love for comics, a contemporary language unique in its ability to tell great stories through the combination of drawing and writing. These are the sparks that give life to "Love Comics" , the title of the second edition of Coconino Fest which, after the success of last summer 2022, will return to animate Ravenna starting from 15 June 2023. The festival of the Coconino Press publishing house celebrates the "ninth art" of the graphic novel, relating it to other forms of expression and storytelling such as music, visual arts, literature, cinema and performance and addressing all generations, with particular attention to the younger ones. Again under the sign of Krazy Kat, the cat from George Herriman's comics in love and favorite victim of the mouse Ignatz, protagonist of the poster designed by Antonio Pronostico which pays homage to the comics and also to the city of Ravenna.

There are many new features of this edition, starting from the venue of the event: the MAR - Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna is the "house" of the festival , organized by Coconino in partnership with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Ravenna and with the same MAR. The Museum hosts four large exhibitions of original drawings by some of the biggest names on the international comics scene: two deceased masters whose work continues to fascinate the new generations, Andrea Pazienza and the Japanese Kazuo Kamimura , and two of the most beloved cartoonists and award winners of the contemporary scene, Manuele Fior and Paolo Bacilieri . A fifth collective exhibition turns the spotlight on the works of young and debuting authors discovered and launched by Coconino Press: BeneDì (Benedetta D'Incau), Silvia Righetti and Rambo Pavone , testifying to the vivacity and plurality of styles and stories narrated by a new , brilliant generation of authors that has just appeared on the scene. After the inauguration on Thursday 15 June, the exhibitions will be open to the public until 30 July (hours: from Tuesday to Saturday 9.00 - 18.00; Sundays and holidays: 10.00 - 19.00; closed on Mondays).
