On the occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Centro Antiviolenza La Nara, as part of the ATHENS project (Territorial Action against the violence of children), promotes the Center for contemporary art Luigi Pecci of Prato the domestic exhibition. In Italy it is estimated that 427,000 minors, in just five years, have experienced violence at home against their mothers, in almost all cases carried out by a man, almost always the father (Source: Save the Children ).
It is called witnessed violence. Girls and children who directly or indirectly witness the mistreatment, witnesses and victims of abuse that they are forced to suffer.
The two collectives propose a reflection on this difficult theme through an unprecedented installation path, conceived by Sedici for the spaces of the Centro Pecci. The exhibition consists of photographic images and a soundtrack, which leads the spectators to take on a new point of view on the concepts of violence and mistreatment. The audio work curated by the director Livia Gionfrida and her Metropopolare ensemble dialogues with the photographic exhibition by Filippo Bardazzi, Claudia Gori and Margherita Nuti.
