From 12 August to 21 November 2019
At Casa Rossini a new unmissable exhibition dedicated to the Pesaro genius: "The woman of the lake 1819 - 2019" by the Rossini Foundation of Pesaro, from 12 August to 21 November.
Since 2016, every year, Gioachino's birthplace has hosted an exhibition dedicated to the bicentenary of a Rossinian work. This year the birthday girl is La donna del lago ; the exhibition will follow the events in a path that leads from Naples to Paris to Pesaro.
In Naples the opera was born at the San Carlo Theater on 24 October 1819; in Paris it was revived on 7 September 1824 at the Opéra; in Pesaro he experienced a new vitality in the three great performances of the Rossini Opera Festival. The itinerary unfolds over two floors of the museum.
At the first, alongside a renewed space dedicated to the composer's parents, it is history that comes to meet us with period materials, scores and librettos, images relating to the representations of Naples and Paris, portraits of the performers, commemorative objects and a precious theater 19th century.
On the second floor, instead, it tells of the "rebirth" of the work that took place in the last forty years: there are photos, posters, posters and room programs of the historic ROF directories by Gae Aulenti (1981), Luca Ronconi (2001) and Damiano Michieletto (2013). Accompanying us on this journey through time and music will be the stage clothes of the Ronconian representation, in their precious uniqueness.
The exhibition is organized by the Rossini Foundation with the Municipality of Pesaro, in collaboration with Ente Olivieri - Oliveriani Library and Museums and Sistema Museo.
