At Casa Rossini a new exhibition not to be missed dedicated to the Pesaro genius: "La donna del lago 1819 - 2019" by the Rossini Foundation of Pesaro, from 12 August to 21 November.
From 2016, every year, Gioachino's birthplace hosts an exhibition dedicated to the bicentennial of a Rossini opera. This year the celebrated woman is La donna del lago; the exhibition will follow the events in a path that leads from Naples to Paris to Pesaro.
In Naples the work was born at the Teatro San Carlo on 24 October 1819; in Paris it was revived September 7, 1824 at the Opéra; in Pesaro he experienced a new vitality in the three great performances of the Rossini Opera Festival. The itinerary winds along two floors of the museum.
At the first, next to a renewed space dedicated to the composer's parents, it is history that brings us together with materials, scores and period librettos, images related to the performances of Naples and Paris, portraits of the performers, commemorative objects and a precious theater of the nineteenth century.
On the second floor it is told instead of the "rebirth" of the work that took place over the last forty years: there are photos, posters, posters and dining programs of the historic ROF by Gae Aulenti (1981), Luca Ronconi (2001) and Damiano Michieletto (2013). To accompany us in this journey through time and in music will be the costumes of the Ronconian representation, in their precious uniqueness.
The exhibition is organized by the Rossini Foundation with the Municipality of Pesaro, in collaboration with Ente Olivieri - Library and Oliverian Museums and Sistema Museo.
