The Museum of Palazzo della Penna is located in the historic center of the city of Perugia. Originally the Palazzo della Penna was a noble residence built in the sixteenth century. Today the Palace is home to an important civic museum dedicated to contemporary art and to two important museum collections. One section is dedicated to Umbrian Doctors and Futurists and a second revolves around the figure of Joseph Beuys. The Futurist section collects a series of works by the Futurist artist Gerardo Dottori from his academic beginnings to the most famous works of Futurist and aerial - pictorial Sacred Art. The collection centered on Beuys preserves the famous “Single Work”: six blackboards centered on the relationship between nature and society. On the whole, other works by artists such as Brajo Fuso, precursor of the art of scrap metal, and his series of "Hellenes" are also exhibited. The internal courtyard is certainly of great value, characterized by a helical staircase designed by Franco Minissi in 1980. Here there is an installation “I am Paolo Vinti” by Daniele Pampanelli which pays homage to the poet Paolo Vinti from Perugia. Inside the museum there are temporary exhibitions dedicated to photography, contemporary art and the contemporary artistic history of the city.
