La Maison de Jeanne d'Arc is a museum in Orléans dedicated to the historical figure of Joan of Arc. Inaugurated in 1974, the museum is located in the heart of the city, in a medieval-style house, rebuilt in 1965. It would be the reconstruction of a building that belonged to Jacques Boucher, general treasurer of Prince Charles I of Orleans, in which Giovanna d 'Arco would have stayed for some time during the heroic enterprise of the liberation of the city (1429). The house has a traditional medieval look, with a half-timbered facade, mullioned windows, stained glass windows and slate roof. The museum preserves an archive collection with documents relating to Joan of Arc and her time. About 37,000 documents from the 16th to the 20th century are preserved, including books, manuscripts, prints, posters and films. The museum offers an overview of heroin and her memory through multimedia itineraries.
