Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano is located in Naples in via Toledo , in one of the most central streets of the city.
Designed by the architect Luigi Platania in the 1920s, the glass ceiling incorporates Art Nouveau architecture .
Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano is home to exhibitions and exhibition events and inside it is possible to admire the rich collection, which includes 120 works . Among the works hosted there are the sculptures of Vincenzo Gemito , an important Neapolitan artist. The pictorial decorations are certainly of great interest with the representations made by Giuseppe Cammarano including the Apotheosis of Sappho .
The walls are painted by Gennaro Maldarelli , a pupil of Cammarano . Maldarelli creates liberty-style paintings with floral motifs, animals and dancing cherubs. In the Sala degli Stucchi, the Martyrdom of Sant'Orsola by Caravaggio , the mythological decorations by Antonio Canova and the representation of the Sleep by Bertel Thorvaldsen are exhibited. Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano is currently managed by the Intesa San Paolo group and is part of the “Gallerie d'Italia” group.
