From 6 November to 27 January 2026
Sixty years after his Neapolitan debut, the Museum and Royal Park of Capodimonte pays tribute to him with "Mediterranean Dream. Sergio Vacchi", on the occasion of the artist's centenary, featuring works representative of his production from 1959 to 2006.
Selected in collaboration with the Vacchi Foundation, the exhibited works reveal the disruptive force of the artist's highly original mind, a visionary often far ahead of his time.
The Naples exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Forma and opened by an essay by Eike Schmidt entitled ‘From Adam and Eve to Frederick II of Hohenstaufen Sergio Vacchi in Naples 1965-1967’.In this 2025, we also celebrate the 2500 years since the foundation of Naples, today more than ever in the international spotlight in reaffirming the open, cosmopolitan character of this Mediterranean metropolis and its historically avant-garde role: the exhibition of the Bolognese master is therefore an opportunity to retrace fundamental years of Neapolitan cultural life in the last century.
