It is difficult to define creativity, but it takes very little to recognize it. This happens with Heinz Schattner's photographs: you expect a portrait and he makes it unique with solarization interventions, you observe a still life of women's shoes and discover that he has filled them with shiny sardines, you see a model with her mouth open but what about if water comes out in which frogs swim? Appreciated internationally for years, the photographer has developed a very personal style that meets the needs of commissioned photography as well as the suggestions of research photography. Thus emerge dreamlike visions and openly surreal atmospheres that transform his photographs into disconcerting occasions in front of which every observer feels pleasantly disoriented.
