Draftsman, watercolorist, painter and engraver, Mario Lattes (1923-2001) created all the illustrations of the three volumes of the Library, an anthology of literary and narrative texts for lower secondary schools, published by his publishing house in 1992, in the face of a preparatory work begun in 1989, and republished with additions and updates in 1998 and in use until 2010.

To focus on the importance and the great quality of this specific aspect of Mario Lattes' artistic production and to underline the profound links that exist between the literary and pictorial soul of his creative research, the Bottari Lattes Foundation organizes the exhibition in collaboration with S. Lattes & C. Editori edited by Francesco Poli.
