Three other important projects will also open on 15 September 2023 in the exhibition spaces of FMAV Palazzo Santa Margherita. Region and Sentiment. Illustrated Italian Itineraries is the title of the exhibition by the Piedmontese illustrator Riccardo Guasco curated by Francesca Fontana, which will be held until 11 February 2024 inside the Museo della Figurina.

On the occasion of the exhibition, Riccardo Guasco created 20 unpublished illustrations , one for each region, which features landscapes, customs and typical products; alongside them he presents other works linked to cities and brands of the Bel Paese, as well as the poetic animated video Italian way . His production resonates and enters into dialogue with the hotel labels preserved in the Figurine Museum: now fallen into disuse, suitcase labels were created in the nineteenth century to be attached to travellers' luggage, initially for practical reasons, to trace the station or port of arrival or avoid exchanges of trunks, subsequently as a publicity tool. They are objects that outline the history of holidays and that reflect the habits and customs of society, becoming a real status symbol for the bourgeois class of the time who, by displaying them, demonstrated that they could afford expensive trips and stays in hotels.

On display there will also be some early twentieth century objects from the historical photography collections managed by FMAV and some original sketches, magazines, guides and papers from the Italian Touring Club with which the exhibition is in collaboration.

The exhibition project is therefore proposed as a journey into Italian geography which is also a walk back in time, into the world of art and traditions, in which the visitor will have the pleasure of experiencing a type of slow and contemplative tourism that appreciates the stops in small towns. 

Region and feeling will also have its own virtual and interactive version contained in Minecraft Museum Adventure. The project, developed together with Future Education Modena, focuses on the reconstruction of the Figurine Museum within the famous video game and is implemented on the occasion of each new exhibition. Users can thus interact with the heritage through a series of games of increasing difficulty ranging from parkour to logic.
