From 16 September to 5 February 2023
Galleria BPER Banca opens up to the contemporary with the exhibition dossier Antonio Ligabue the shadowless hour dedicated to Antonio Ligabue , which will be inaugurated in the exhibition spaces of via Scudari 9 in Modena on the occasion of the philosophy festival (16-18 September 2022), of which BPER Banca is the main sponsor.
Antonio Ligabue ora senz'ombra is curated by Sandro Parmiggiani, the exhibition will develop from four important paintings belonging to the art collection of BPER Banca. Alongside the paintings owned by the bank, a selection of works from private collections will be exhibited, to represent the main strands to which the artist has dedicated himself: from the relentless fights between wild animals to self-portraits, up to work scenes in the fields, where realities of the gaze and memories of the lost homeland merge.
Entitled “ Antonio Ligabue. The shadowless hour. Recognition as an artist and as a person ", Antonio Ligabue ora senz'ombra will deal with the theme of the twenty-second edition of the philosophy festival - Justice - in reference to the biographical story of Antonio Ligabue , from exile from Switzerland to forced admissions to a psychiatric hospital . For some time now, BPER Banca has been committed to combating all forms of prejudice through projects and actions aimed at enhancing diversity and inclusion, values on which the exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect.
