Leonardo da Vinci's vineyard was donated to Leonardo in 1498 by Ludovico il Moro, Duke of Milan. Vineyard that Leonardo left in 1500 when Duke Ludovico il Moro was defeated by French troops and Leonardo had to leave Milan. On the land of the large vineyard of San Vittore, the duke dreamed of building a new residential area. Today only the Casa degli Atellani remains of that initial project. The Leonardo da Vinci vineyard is reborn with Expo 2015 by the will of the Portaluppi Foundation and the current owners of the Atellani house.
