Painting is, for Vittorio Mazzucconi, an "inner journey" that goes from eros to transcendence, with images that present themselves with astonishing truth. His path passes through the women he loved and who, in the exhibition, take the names of mythological figures, suggesting the deepest presence of the fundamental archetypes of life. With eyes fixed on this "super-reality", the events of contemporary art appear only as the superficial, ideological and commercial inventions of the "external" path, so far from the internal one of true art.

Show no. 5, 1989-91 Proserpina

Love finally blossoms ("Alchemicus"), in a form that seems perfect like the harmony that emerges from the painting "Proserpina". However, its title reveals the drama of the girl's abduction by Pluto, the king of the underworld. Something similar happened in the separation that mysteriously put an end to love, so intense as to take on the sense of a death, as seen in the painting "The Body and the Soul", a metaphor for abandonment by the beloved woman.

A division that has left an indelible shadow on the artist's soul.
