The Swiss Institute presents “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books” , an exhibition of the winning books in the last three editions (2016/2017/2018) of the competition The most beautiful Swiss books organized by the Federal Office of Culture. The exhibition is conceived by Jonas Voegeli - Hubertus Design , winner of the Jan Tschichold Award 2019, and by Samuel Gross, Artistic Director of the Swiss Institute. The most beautiful Swiss books competition recognizes the work of the most talented book designers of the year, it encourages and showcases high quality productions and then promotes the winning works. A traveling exhibition is organized every year in Switzerland
and abroad, as a promotional measure to share and consolidate skills related to book design.
Each year an international jury selects the projects that meet the eligibility criteria and chooses the most beautiful Swiss books, documented in a catalog designed by Teo Schifferli. Temporary Architecture Bookshop
In conjunction with the exhibition, a Temporary Architecture Bookshop will be set up in which it will be possible to purchase a selection of the most interesting volumes of architecture, graphics, design, published by Swiss and Italian publishers. The idea of the bookshop, which will be managed by Temporary Bookstore, was born following the Swiss Talks, a multi-year cycle of meetings dedicated to the orientations of contemporary architecture in Switzerland, curated by Federico Tranfa and produced by Casabella Formazione and Istituto Svizzero. Fioroni Design for furnishing.
