From 20 November to 7 February 2026
In her paintings, Marina Rheingantz expresses herself through color and gestuality, allowing spaces and changing atmospheres to emerge from the surface of the canvas. Thick oil paint stains, with their physicality, appear as the warp of fabrics and the texture of the landscape. Since her debut in 2005, the artist has stripped her compositions of any figurative traces, preserving the landscape solely as a supporting structure of abstract horizons and imagined depths. For about ten years, Rheingantz has developed a body of textile works, initially through embroidery and more recently through intricate jacquard weaves, revealing analogies between her painting technique and embroidery.
In both, the artist employs a rhythmic gestuality, which is reflected in her canvases as a surface animated by lines and color stains that act as volumes and masses.
For the Rodamoinho exhibition, Rheingantz presents a group of recent works that expand her dialogue between painting and weaving, between abstraction and sedimentation of memory.
