Art as an optical expression, color as a pure form of art.

The Luciana Matalon Foundation of Milan in collaboration with Colonna Arte Contemporanea of Appiano Gentile (CO) presents the exhibition by Dario Zaffaroni entitled "Fluo-Geometrie" from 22 March to 1 April 2023.

A prominent artist on the contemporary Italian scene, born in 1943, Dario Zaffaroni has always characterized his research path in the name of experimenting with new languages and creative means of communication, increasingly focusing on the chromatic interaction of the fluorescent between rationality and sensitivity through the 'juxtaposition and intersection of fluorescent gradient chromatic ribbons that give always different perceptual and kinetic phenomena.

These increasingly marked interests of his on chromatic and kinetic perception, where the geometry of the lines and the variation of the surface create receptive-wave suggestions in the eyes of the observer, were born in the Sixties from the deep spiritual and artistic partnership with Dadamaino, with whom he signs artistic installations such as the Environnement lumino-cinétique project on the place du Chatelet in Paris at the invitation of the Center National d'Art Contemporain, and from the attendance of important Milanese avant-garde artists such as Colombo, Calderara, Minoli, Scaccabarozzi, Tornquist, Varisco.

The title of the exhibition "Fluo-geometrie", which includes over thirty works from the 2000s, clearly indicates how Zaffaroni is an extremely eclectic and refined artist, always attentive to the evolution of contemporary art which has pushed him towards methodologies and executive techniques always more innovative. Whether it is the first works, defined as “Fluorescent Chromodynamics” or “Fluorescent Modularities”, made exclusively with limitedly pre-colored fluorescent papers in nine shades, cut out and composed with mathematical rigor in geometric shapes, even three-dimensional, of “Holographic Polychromes”, “Polimodularità fluorescent" or "Polydynamic geometries", where there is the interaction of fluorescent papers with other diversified ones, all these works are born from the combination of chromatic sensitivity, intuition and rationality, which allow the artist to arrive at bold color combinations and combinations, artistically evolved and impactful, directing the visual perception of the observer.
