David LaChapelle. I Believe in Miracles , the major solo exhibition at MUDEC in Milan from 22 April 2022 , produced by 24 ORE Cultura - 24 ORE Group and promoted by the Municipality of Milan-Cultura, is the result of a lifelong artistic research path and which tells of an unpublished and in some ways unexpected David LaChapelle.

From his training with Andy Warhol - in 1980s New York - and from pop culture, David LaChapelle 's multifaceted artistic experience has made its way to galleries, culminating in a one-of-a-kind artistic photography characterized by acute awareness of the time we live in. Starting from the first works, an unpublished series of works that are part of the new and visionary phase of production - the last, dated 2022 - is the result of the powerful legacy of his long experience. artistic and human.

With this new project, curated by Reiner Opoku and Denis Curti, together with the LaChapelle studio, the Museum of Cultures hosts an exhibition itinerary that focuses on a critical look at the human soul, investigated in its folds made of joys, pains, loneliness. , passions, insecurities and ideals. Man and his relationship with himself, man in the surrounding environment and in human society, man in Nature. A very personal vision that Mudec has chosen to present through the setting up of this artist's retrospective, bringing an additional tool for anthropological reflection on the present.

On display over 90 works - including large formats, site-specific shots, new productions and a video installation - which unfold in a fluid story full of suggestions, through the artist's very personal vision of a 'gestural' photography, which is tear on the present and 'alert' for the future to come.
